THE SESSION

The Session is a meeting space for young people through movement. A place where different dance languages coexist, intersect and engage in dialogue.

The afternoon begins with an open space to move, followed by a CROSSOVER MASTERCLASS with three artists from different dance languages: Fatu Afrikangyale, Rick Indigo, Imperial House and Aurélien Darbellay. Afrofusion, house and Social Jazz Dance in dialogue, sharing grooves, rhythms and ways of understanding the body, with a focus on listening and personal authenticity.

We will continue with a jam session with a live DJ by Rick Indigo, and the session will culminate in an All Styles · All Levels battle open to everyone. We encourage people from different disciplines—urban, classical, contemporary or freestyle—to take part. The jury will be made up of professionals from different styles and there will be a few surprise prizes.

A space to meet, dance and build community through the body. The Session is open to young people from the La Marina neighbourhood and from across the city; you can join from the age of 12!
