Bacchanals 2023

The Bacchanals of Graner is a series of dance and body training sessions open to everyone, named after the major festivities of the Marina neighborhood. In these sessions, The Informalls and other guest artists will provide the necessary tools to move the body together and create spaces for community celebration. The sessions will be open to professionals and amateurs alike, especially to the residents of the Marina neighborhood. No experience is necessary, but a strong desire to move the body and actively participate throughout the session, breaking a sweat in your tracksuit.

The Informalls is a performing arts company that serves as a platform for artistic creation in all its forms. It is linked to movement, humor, and social agitation. Residents of Graner 2023 by public call, in the creation modality.

There will be two cycles of Bacanales 2023: a first cycle of sessions between June and July, coinciding with the start of the neighborhood’s major festivities and our Boombeta activity cycle, and a second cycle between October and November. In both cycles, there will be three laboratory sessions and one session open to the public, friends, and neighbors.

SPRING – SUMMER BACCHANALS:

  •  Thursday, June 1st
  •  Wednesday, June 21st
  •  Wednesday, July 5th
  •  Laboratory including audience participation: July 12th (titled Informal Stage, the last laboratory of the cycle will also invite participation from the audience of the Summer Terrace of the Civic Center La Cadena, in dialogue with our Boombeta artistic activities cycle)
  • Laboratory Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Bacchanals is Graner’s proposal within the framework of the project Territories(s), Community(ies), and Artistic Practices, aiming to activate a community creation laboratory in our closest territories and open channels for the impact of artistic processes towards communities and vice versa, generating interdependent and sustainable relational spaces.

Territories(s), Community(ies), and Artistic Practices is a collaborative project involving Ateneu Popular 9 barris, La Central del Circ, Graner, and Fabra i Coats: Fàbrica de creació, with the support of the Creation Factories Program of the Barcelona City Council and the Pla de Barris.
