Colaboraciones, 2021

Graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts «San Alejandro» in Havana and the Art of Conduct Chair, directed by the artist Tania Bruguera. His practice is located in investigating specific political events and social injustices that occur inside and outside his country of origin, Cuba. For example, the unjustified killing of unarmed people, the use of excessive force, the violation of constitutional rights, racist practices and discrimination, and the increasing militarization of police forces. Your main concern when dealing with these events or injustices is to carry out these problems in the artistic sphere and their discourses. In his work, he refers to the struggles of people who do not have rights, privileges, benefits, or forms of expression against the violence suffered by the current system of government and power. His works have been shown at the Biennial of the Americas, Vancouver Biennial, Sharjah Biennial, 57th Venice Biennale or Havana Biennial. He has carried out artistic actions in museums around the world: the Stedelijk Museum, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Quito, Walker Art Center, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Museu de Arte de São Paulo, the Museum of Latin American Art, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana, the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum in New York, among others.
