The Aplec consists of two meetings. In the first meeting, creators selected through the public call interact through various activities, learn about Graner’s creation support program, and share with the entire group the project hosted in residence during the year. The second meeting provides a new space for coexistence where creators share the journey of their projects. It is also a celebration meeting, an “end of the party” of the community built in Graner throughout the year among the resident artists of each cycle.
In 2023, the first meeting was held on March 17th and 18th, 2023. All the artists who do not live in Barcelona traveled to the city for this weekend to share two intense days of coexistence. In addition to the presentation of each project, more informal meeting spaces were shared during meals on the center’s terrace. Carolina Campos (resident artist of 2022) explained her experience at Graner, and we enjoyed Gisèle Vienne’s show “Crowd” together at the Mercat de les Flors.
In December, the second meeting was held in a single “end of the party” day, where we reunited to share the year’s experiences and enjoy a paella together.
