EL MOVIMENT DE LA MARINA

Guillem Mont de Palol and Jorge Dutor propose bringing together residents of La Marina of all ages and backgrounds, with the aim of collectively building El movimiento de La Marina. This shared choreographic piece will later be offered as a gift to the city within the framework of an official ceremony as part of Boombeta, the festival by El Graner at the Jardins dels Drets Humans. The aim is to create and present a collective intangible heritage that emerges before our eyes and invites us, for a moment, to join the dance.

A proposal by Montdedutor in dialogue with El Graner and with mediation by ERRO Grupo.

Montedutor are Jorge Dutor and Guillem Mont de Palol, performing artists and stage creators. We work at the borders of different disciplines such as dance, architecture, theatre and opera, and their fields of influence in political and social contexts. We are deeply committed to a place that for others is merely transitional: being at the margins rather than at the centre is an ideological position. Our stage practices cross languages and develop something energetic and empathetic: we use humour, absurdity, repetition and music to bring the performing arts closer to all audiences, with the intention that they leave doing the conga and later repeat what they have seen at home. We have been working together since 2009, collaborating with theatres, art centres and festivals across Europe and Latin America.
